What is the difference between the the Marriage 911, The On-Site Marriage Recovery Group, and the EMS?
The materials used in the the online course Marriage 911, The On-Site Marriage Recovery Group, and the EMS are very similar. The main differences are schedule and price. Since much of the material use in the online course is prerecorded, we can offer it at a much lower price than either of the in person options. We are currently conducting a comparison study to determine the comparative effectiveness of each method of delivery. top
How do I enroll in an online course/subscribe?
Visit the appropriate page for ARC Online Courses or ARC Online Subscriptions and click on payment option that you prefer. This will take you to our shopping cart. Check out and both you and our website administrator will receive confirmation. Your account will be created in a few hours and you will receive additional instructions for your course or subscription including your username, password, and links to the online forms that are required to fully activate your account. Once the online forms are complete, your account will be activated by our administrator and you will gain access to your subscription and/or course materials. top
Is membership/course enrollment immediate?
Please keep in mind that membership does not instantaneously take effect. Assigning you the proper mentor cannot be done by a machine. Our website administer carefully and prayerfully considers which of our mentors would be the best match for you. When you click on one of our subscription plans on the subscriptions page, you'll be taken to the shopping cart. You can come back to the ARC Online and add a course if you'd like. Then you'll proceed to check out. Our website administrator has to make your account which can take up to 1 work day, but is usually faster. Then, you'll complete the Affair Analyzer and a research form. Then, our website administrator has to analyze your answers and prayerfully select the right mentor for you and create your private forum. The whole process can take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days to access the member resources mainly depending on how quickly you respond. Pairing you with a mentor can take up to a week so that our web administrator can give the proper attention to this complicated process and make sure to pair you with the best mentor available. top
Can I take the course/subscribe without my spouse?
You can certainly take the course/subscribe without your spouse. However, all prices are listed per couple and there is no discount if only one spouse chooses to participate. Even if only one of spouse decides to enroll/subscribe, the couple and their family will benefit. top
How much time commitment is necessary for the online course Marriage 911?
Total time per week is 2.5-4 hours. The course time refers to the phone conference time. The phone conference lasts 1-2 hours. Keep in mind that it may be long distance for you. The recorded video portion is 60-80 minutes broken into 3 files. Download time will depend on your internet speed. The homework ranges from 1-10 pages of reading with 2-6 assignments, usually writing a paragraph or a series of separate sentences. You could probably complete the homework in an hour, but for your own benefit, it would of course be best to not rush. It is probably best to watch the video (1-1.5 hours) then read the material (20-30 minutes) then think about your answers for a while, maybe a day or two even, then write down your thoughts and be ready to discuss the topic at the phone conference (1-2 hours). But whether you spread it out or do it all at the last minute is really up to you. Each week's video should be completed before your phone conference to discuss it. For example, if your course starts on January 1 (Week 0) you should complete the Week 1 materials before your phone conference on January 8 (Week 1)to cover the week 1 materials. top
When is the conference call for the online course Marriage 911?
The therapist led conference call is scheduled for 1-2 hours beginning at the time and date listed on the courses page. Each week the course participants and therapist will gather by conference call at this time. We refer to the courses and participant groups by date and time, for example "The September 27 Evening Course" or the "October 11th Noon Course." So, make sure to select a conference call time that will work for you. top
Can we take the online course Marriage 911 without the group meetings?
Currently, we do not offer Marriage 911 to couples independent of a participant group. We have found that participating in a group is invaluable to the recovery process because the other couples help you to understand your own relationship and recovery better. They offer you a mirror like no other. Aspects that you see in yourself or your spouse, when seen in another couple, are suddenly revealed in a completely different light allowing you to look at your own life, relationship, and recovery more objectively and more healthily. top
What is a mentor? How does online mentoring help in recovery?
An ARC Mentor is a caring and trained individual who has already walked the path or recovery and who is now willing to help you do so too! Mentors are not therapist, they are volunteers who know the value of healing and want to help. When you join the ARC Online, we pair you with a mentor whose former situation resembles yours. Learn from your mentor what recovery is like, what is normal in recovery and afterward. We have found that having a mentor to share with and learn from is a crucial part of recovery from an affair. Mentors are an invaluable resource for couples in crises to give hope to both spouses no matter who was unfaithful. top
How does online mentoring work?
Once you become a member, we pair you with a mentor (see mentor question above). In your private forum, you can post questions and responses to your mentor who will do the same. No other members can see your forum. They will not even see that it exists and you will not see that their forums exist. Mentors can see all member forums so that they can offer recommendations to each other on how to best respond to the members. In that way, it can be like having a whole team of mentors to coach you in your recover. Whenever your mentor submits a response to your post, you'll get a discrete notification via e-mail or you can choose to not receive e-mail notifications and just log in frequently. top
I can participate in the member forums, but how does that help me?
Just as fellowship with a mentor has proven an invaluable source of strength and support, it also helps immensely to share and learn from others who are in your position. Recovering from infidelity is not simple. It's not quick. It's not easy. It's not pleasant. But it is also not impossible. Hope grows within us when we know that we are not alone and that we are not weird in what we are feeling and experiencing. The General Forum and the Prayer Forum offer a way for you to communicate with others who are also recovering and to learn for certain that there really are a lot of people who are on the same path as you. These member forums also give you a vital way to share your triumphs too! Encourage others and the hope grows for all! top
Tell me about anonymity at the ARC Online.
We've noticed that a lot of people don't feel like they can tell anyone about what is going on in their marriage. They don't want anyone to know at work, in their family, at their church, in their neighborhood, at their children's schools or anywhere else. Sometimes it just seems like there's no one safe to tell. Here at the ARC Online, other users will know you only by your username. No one has to know where you work, where your kids go to school, where you go to church, etc. But we will know how you feel, because everyone here has experienced infidelity in some way. top
How does payment work?
When you sign up, you'll be asked your credit card information and be charged for your first month. Then, after one month (or three, or twelve depending on the schedule you choose),your credit card will be automatically charged. You will receive notification when your card is charged. top
Do you offer any discounts or scholarships?
We offer membership discounts at a much reduced price when you arrange for a quarterly or yearly subscription. Also, if you enroll in one of our online courses you will receive membership for free for the duration of your course. Couples who attend the Emergency Marital Seminar will receive online membership free for one year after EMS. In the future we hope to offer scholarships but are not able to at this time. We currently offer military enrollment at half price for our Online Marriage Recovery Course. top
How can I give a gift subscription/course enrollment?
If you would like to pay for a subscription for a family member, friend, employee, or other person, you need only his/her name and e-mail address. Simply use the contact form before you submit payment and let us know the name and e-mail of your friend or loved one. top
