Question:

Anytime we have a discussion about the past infidelities my husband says, “I’m not that guy anymore”. There were two affairs and a few one night stands. He says he sees now what was driving him in his behavior. The validation, power of having someone desire him and the thrill. My question is, is that enough? You talk of relapse being something that can happen typically five years later. Does this typically happen in people who are self aware and have boundaries? I already have trouble understanding the compartmentalization aspect, but if he is capable before, could it happen even if he has good intentions?
