Hi Rick - my husband is a sex addict and acted out for 28 of our 37 year marriage. We have done 2 EMS weekends and I have had EMDR. In a previous Q&A you mentioned Affair Recovery offering a weekend dealing with Intimacy. My husband and I are having difficulty re-connecting physically and sexually. Your last answer to me about this problem was helpful, but I have not been able to have EMDR back in Austin due to my husband's work schedule and my recent major back surgery. Something that has me scared/reluctant to talk about sex is a few months ago I tried to initiate sex with him in a loving way, and his answer was he "felt like he had to perform for me." Now I feel I can never bring up sex since he sees it as a time to "perform." Also, I feel that he has had so MUCH sex with prostitutes and shared with them so much of himself, I feel there is absolutely NO way that our sex can ever be special, as I feel if we have sex he will just compare it in his mind to the great sex he had for years and years and my sex will NEVER come close to what he had with his prostitutes. Can you help me with this? And also is there some way we can find out about the Intimacy weekend that might be offered by Affair Recovery? Thank you so much.
