We have been married 39 years with 4 lovely children. My husband had a one night stand 3 years into our marriage which I managed to get past. D-Day this time was 5 months ago when my daughters hired a PI and discovered that he was having a sexual affair which had been ongoing for 3 years. He immediately stopped this and tells me that he never loved her. He says his goal is to repair our marriage and make it happier than it ever was. I have seen many changes in him for the better in the past couple of months as he learns from Hope for Healing and Gottman .We are living apart, see each other most days and date. BUT - while remorseful for the pain he has caused he says he feels NO SHAME! He is upbeat most of the time while I am in pieces grieving and I still have physical symptoms of trauma like shaking and anxiety. Is he safe to invest in by giving our marriage another chance? I Don’t know whether to stay and work or run away. I love him, but find that my love is starting to wane after 5 months of anxiety and uncertainty.I am desperate for these feelings to stop and to start feeling happier again.
