I thought we were making progress at week 7 of EMS Online. My mate and I planned for him to go with me to a conference for 4 days. Since we live apart this was the longest stretch of days we would have together in almost a year. Our history in couples counseling, while he was having his affair, showed me that he can do a limited amount of work and keep up the facade for short periods such as the weekly calls. The trip confirmed this to be the case again. I saw the trip as an opportunity to connect and enjoy being with each other. He brought up the affair in three different conversations. In the first instance on the way to the airport I asked him not to bring her on our trip. He could not sustain our recovery process for even 3 days. I am at a loss.
