I was wondering what your advice would be about revisiting trigger locations such as restaurants, hotels, stores, etc in order to desensitize the trigger. I've read some articles about revisiting places associated with trauma and how it can sometimes help by being able to see that it is just a place. I would like to eventually do something like this with my unfaithful husband, even if it starts out just sitting in the parking lot and talking about what happened there, grieving what happened there, and eventually hoping we could eventually make our own new memories there. I would like to do this so I can try to reclaim my ability to drive and go places without having to reroute my life to avoid these locations out of fear and pain. My husband thinks it would be counterproductive and he thinks we need to avoid these places and just "move forward, not backward". What do you suggest? If yes, do you have any advice on how we should go about it and when in the healing process this should be done?Sections: Rick's Q & A timeRick's QuestionsRL_Category: Emotional RegulationQ&A Recovery LibraryRL_Media Type: Video
