I know your question was for Patsy but I wanted to chime in.
It is frustrating as a betrayed spouse to have to spend time, energy and money on something that we didn't cause, didn't ask for, and never should have happened. So I empathize with your wife on that.
I tried to avoid the work for a long time and suffered for it. It wasn't until I really engaged (and spent money, time and energy) that I started to make progress and notice a real difference. So as much as I understand her reservations, you each only get one life and it goes by quickly. The sooner you both get started the better.
AR's EMS Weekend (in person) is a life changing experience. It may be the best place to put your resources as it crams in a ton of teaching, tools, and concentrated work in a short period of time. You'll also meet other couples with similar situations so you both feel less alone. It's like a couple months of therapy in the course of a weekend and a great path forward. If that is not an option for you any of the AR programs are worthwhile but less intense.
Whatever you decide, I wish you the best in your recovery.
