My husband of 23 years took staggering risks - personally & professionally - in 15 years of infidelity with 8 women + pornography. I feel that our prior couple’s psychotherapists got him off track saying they didn’t think he is a sex addict & his work could be done in couples counseling. We had a phone consult with John Haney 2 weeks ago & he said there are red flags for sex addiction. Husband just started Hope for Healing, but refuses to do his own counseling to date - one of our agreements to rebuild trust toward reconciliation as we approach 1 year since D-Day. I recently stopped couples counseling with new therapist, and continuing on my own now, because I thought it was enabling his denial of the need for him to do his own work. I’m having trouble finding local psychotherapist with sex addict specialty even if he would go.
