He was dishonest and incredibly deceitful over this period of time and that has been the hardest part to deal with. He has been an alcoholic for the 8 years we have been together. He also has a pornography addiction that we battled throughout our marriage and never made any progress with. He also was sexually abused as a child by a close family member which he has never properly dealt with. He swears this wouldn't have happened without alcohol and if these things wouldn't have happened he would most likely never stopped drinking. I know alcohol impairs judgement, lowers inhibitions etc. but it doesn't change the condition of your heart. How much weight do I put on the role alcohol played? I don’t want to dismiss his terrible decisions and I don't want to just try to console myself with the idea that being drunk is to blame.Sections: Rick's Q & A timeRick's QuestionsRL_Category: For The Hurt SpouseQ&A Recovery LibraryRL_Media Type: Video
