My husband had an affair several years ago. We have experienced three major D-Days since. Each time has been devastating for me. This time, my husband has truly seen my pain. Yet, he has not once shed a tear. He will hold me in his arms as I sob, or even as I rant. But he has never cried with me. For the record, he doesn't show unpleasant emotions readily. However he does tear up during worship at church or during touching scenes on TV. As I learn more about empathy, I am even more confused by what looks to me like his lack of grief over what we have lost and his lack of emotional connection to me. He says and writes that he is sorry, that this was the worst thing he has ever done. Can you help me to understand how it is that he has never cried?
