Question:

What is your stance on the use of polygraph's to confirm a therapeutic disclosure and thereafter, during recovery, to provide the betrayed with a source to feel safe about the unfaithful’s sobriety, say semiannually or maybe just annually? I have read about other sex addicts in recovery with the spouse they betrayed implementing this and it being very helpful for both the betrayed and the unfaithful. My husband is reluctant but willing to do polygraphs post his therapeutic disclosure however he is very apprehensive and defensive about having to take one to validate his disclosure to me. Any feedback and guidance you can give regarding this topic will be most appreciated.
