Question:

A year after my husband disclosed 15 years of infidelity I told our 5 adult children because I was so frustrated with his lack of empathy and humility. Now we have a really big mess: all but one refuse to speak to my husband and 3 have chosen ‘no contact’ with us and the other is still financially dependent and has since dropped out of university suffering from severe depression. We no longer see our grandchildren. This has gone on for 8 months despite us working on our marriage, despite significant growth and healing, despite us reaching out to our children with news of our repair work. They also have nothing to do with our extended family which causes a lot of hurt (grandmothers especially). Our grandchildren are quickly growing without us, our dependent daughter is suicidal in another city and one of our sons is getting married this summer. We would like to be able to celebrate together. Our children are close with each other. Some are in the wedding party. What can my husband and I do?
