Log in to listen to the full recording.Question: I noticed a lot of affairs seem to start in the midst of couples dealing with tragic events ,death of a parent/child, illness, etc. Is this common? Also my husband’s AP started as a friend and he helped her come off the brink of suicide. She is 15 years younger and he became her knight in shining armor. It was a 2 year mostly emotional affair and I believe he has truly ended it but is really struggling with his feelings for her. I wonder if there is a connection between “saving someone’s life” and an abnormal sense of responsibility for that person's happiness. Along with that I think there were other contributing factors: midlife crisis and struggling with his career. That all combined and made the perfect storm. Our marriage before all this was exceptional and special.
