Is overcoming an affair similar to overcoming alcohol addiction in that exposure to the affair partner can trigger the brain into those same chemical responses that caused the twisted thinking? We are 2 years out and yet I worry an accidental encounter with the affair partner will set off those feelings again, cause a curiosity, and then crossing of lines and boundaries because the brain starts to get those hits of dopamine. I realize there has to be some response but I wonder about how strong of a pull there is after time has gone by. They say with alcohol one drink can cause a complete chain reaction to backslide.
