Journaling could take-up to 6 hours of my day, but typically it will be 3 to 5 hours just about everyday. Recently I transitioned from hand writing to voice memos, I call them voice journals. So, I may walk and talk in private for a couple of hours at a time processing my thoughts. I do consider myself someone with PTSD so I realize my intrusive thoughts are entirely fabricated, but still difficult to relieve without processing. I journal primarily to process my feelings safely and not cause flooding or angry snap comments during conversations. This usually occurs if I start to discuss problems in an unstructured way with my mate. Also, I am concerned for how much time away from my mate this is causing and how it could be negatively affecting our relationship. In fact my mate has expressed as much. I don't want to make things worse for us, if I am by doing this wrong. Is it normal and acceptable that I journal as much as I do? Can you recommend any areas I should avoid journaling? What is the upper limit on journaling session length in minutes? What is the upper limit on voice journaling total daily hours? Is voice journalling sufficiently helpful as hand written journals or typed?Sections: Rick's Q & A timeRick's QuestionsRL_Category: Emotional RegulationFor The Hurt SpouseIntrusive ThoughtsQ&A Recovery LibraryRecovery FundamentalsTrauma of InfidelityRL_Media Type: Video
