Question:

My wife shows all the signs of being remorseful and apologetic about what she has done and how it has affected me. However, things within the relationship don't seem to change and she doesn't seem to care to take the initiative to create anything new. I’m having a hard time figuring out whether I am still reeling from the trauma of infidelity, or whether I continue to be traumatized by new and current hurts that trigger all the hurts of yesteryear. Do you have any suggestions to help me process and know whether or not I am the one holding us back from a better future?
