Question:

We are currently slowly going through the boot camp course. Should I suggest to my spouse that he take Hope for Healing while I’m taking Harboring Hope or should he be the one to suggest taking it?

Suggesting Spouse takes course

I’m commenting on this because I believe my UH began taking the H4H because I had finally come to the realization that I was at my rock bottom. I wasn’t willing to stay in a relationship with a blatant cheater. I still wasn’t aware of the decades of lies that had been happening in our marriage relationship. He began the course on his own volition. It was half hearted and I believe that he was only doing it because he thought that it would put him in “good graces” with me. Not until he finished the course and accepted the offer to mentor the course ( the leader of his course encouraged him to do this), did he begin to see that this course was a way for him to start seeing the brokenness in his life. We attended EMS Intensive Weekend before he had finished his first round of the course. It’s been a journey with more disclosure after EMS Intensive Weekend. I continue to reevaluate my relationship with him every 90 days now. His actions are speaking to me, now “I’m gonna?” I’m deaf to those words. They don’t seem to exist anymore in his vocabulary. We continue to engage with our MFL group that was formed by couples who’s original groups fell apart. There is no longer a requirement for our group to finish one lesson a week. We can take 4 weeks to finish a lesson with our 3 couples all participating in answering the questions. Unless they sign up and do H4H for themselves? Personally, I am not sure that it will “stick.” If you think that you can do my physical therapy for me and I will heal? You decide.
