Question:

My husband and I entered marriage counseling in May of 2020. It wasn't until July of 2021 that I found out he was having an emotional affair with a coworker. We both started individual therapy as well as continued marriage counseling. In marriage therapy we never focused on the infidelity but worked on improving our communication. In December of 2023 I found out he had gotten back together with the affair partner for a physical encounter. I was devastated to say the least. June of 2024 we enrolled and have completed the EMS Online course. It was the first time we dealt with the infidelity head on. We have come a long way, and our marriage has improved a lot. I just found out my husband reached out to the affair partner during our EMS Online course. He said he only wanted to know how she was doing. I am devastated again. I don't know the reasons why he would jeopardize our marriage yet again. He claims to love me and doesn't want our marriage to end. My question is, is this latest contact a SUDS which is the start to a relapse? Or is this just another incident and it's time for me to see that things are never going to change? Is it time to walk away?
