He's a workaholic, travels for work and takes her along. He rarely reaches out to our 4 children (ages 16, 21, 25 and 28) and when he does, their conversations are quite superficial. He blocks my calls/texts and only wants me to communicate with him via email and only if it pertains to the kids and not our relationship. The few times I've seen him; he won't look me in the eye and completely avoids me. He mentioned divorce 9 months ago but has not proceeded with even retaining a lawyer. He is now hoping we'd collaborate on a divorce but I told him I wasn't going to destroy what we've been trying to build for 29 years and that he'd have to serve me papers. Our extended families are terribly hurt and disappointed in him as we are devout Catholics and do not believe in divorce. I often wonder if his actions are due to his conscience, shame and guilt but I also think it can very well be due to pride, ego and a keen sense of entitlement. I am losing all hope. Is there anything at all I can do to change his mind set and his heart besides continued patience and prayers?
