Question:

I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD and am wondering how that plays into affair recovery. I’m on medication, my husband and I are seeing a therapist that has helped our relationship, but I don't know what to do to recover from the PTSD. The affair opened up a lot of trauma from my childhood and the affair was discovered while I was still recovering from the death of my mother, which I was told was the first trigger for the PTSD and because of my mothers health issues and since I was her primary (AKA ONLY) care taker and the one with the medical power of attorney I had to consent to several surgeries, including 3 different surgeries to have limbs removed. I am just looking for direction on what sort of help I should be seeking for myself. I noticed the other day something my husband said sent me into an episode that took me several days to recover from and looking back now I think it was more a trigger from my childhood than his affair.
