Question
My husband has had two affairs; the most recent discovered 3 months ago. We are in marriage counseling with a local therapist that we see every two weeks. During these sessions we only focus on the marriage, not the affairs, our individual issues, nor why the affairs occurred. I recently joined Harboring Hope, hoping the group will help uncover the why. Is understanding the 'why' important to be able to recover & heal? Will Harboring Hope help us uncover the why? My husband is remorseful & has taken accountability for his actions, but has admitted he needs help in understanding the ‘why’ so that he can better understand how to identify triggers & learn how to overcome them.
