But when does better start?!? I had hoped EMSO would help get us talking, but I fear in many ways it's done the opposite. I'm committed to recovery and have been putting my heart into every assignment, answering every question my spouse asks (though she rarely does), going to counseling, joined a small group, and overall just trying to take the initiative in recovery for us and for me ... but it's the opposite for her. She sees EMSO and anything recovery related as a source of frustration and only minimally participates. In EMSO, she only answers the questions that are discussed on the call. 5 weeks in she declared a break and left the state for 2 weeks, and did not call in during one of those 2. I've tried to give her space as she’s requested, but it's getting to the point where existing in the same house is difficult. I'm not allowed to greet her, tell her how I feel about her, talk to her about anything personal, touch her, and usually not even look her in the eye. How do we recover if we can't even interact like polite strangers and when do things start to improve?
