Question:

Hi Rick,

I suppose I am what you call "ambivalent." I was unfaithful to my spouse and I know he is hurting and I could work on my empathy for sure and hope that EMSO will help me with that. Problem is, this tragedy is making me reevaluate my whole marriage, not to be with an affair partner (he is out of the picture), but in general. We have had many problems for as long as I can remember; long before the affair. I just think that maybe he would be better off without me so he can be free to find someone that loves him more than I do. Then, I can also find myself and figure out who I am; something I dream about a lot. A lot of things I read say we can have a second marriage or a better marriage, but it seems like those marriages were solid to start with. Why should I stay in a marriage that wasn't so great to begin with? I'm a bit stuck.
