Question
My husband is in love with his affair partner and is asking me for a divorce after nearly 30 years of marriage. I am blindsided and shocked because I thought our marriage was strong. We have two adult children. His affair partner is in the process of divorcing her husband and has two young children. My husband is using minimizing language by saying he “entered into a new relationship”, “I love you but I don’t want to be married to you” and “let’s uncouple”. The crazy thing is he wants our divorce to be no big deal and he expects that we can all be good friends. How can he be so delusional and casual about this life altering situation?
