Question:

My husband had an affair with his ex who he has kids with. He broke it off, but she’ll always be waiting around for another chance. How do we go about boundaries, rules, and guidelines on how to live from here on out when there are children involved? In a “normal” affair situation, rule number one is to break it off, “No contact”. But that just isn’t realistic with children involved. This is so difficult. Please help with some advice on how we can create safety in our marriage when there seems to be a door left open that will never close.
