I've been a dedicated follower of Jesus for over 40 years. Now I realize there is no immunity to stupidity. Thanks to God, Affair Recovery, and my stupidity, our marriage is now ambitious, energized, and exciting. In many ways I consider myself a Berean; I want to verify statements and opinions with the Word. Your statement on "faith being an organ of the soul" has captured my interest, and your premise to conclusion is logical. I closely examined many passages dealing with faith including Hebrews 11:1 but still have a difficult time establishing a strong connection with Scripture. While reading this morning I came across this passage; Romans 3: 27-28: ......What we've learned is this: God does not respond to what we do; we respond to what God does. ...... The Message This passage gives me a better understanding of what you are attempting to communicate. If you have other passages to support the statement, I would be most appreciative. The good news of Jesus is simple, just let it out of the box. To explain how it flies requires knowledge and understanding. Blessings to you and Affair Recovery Rick's resources: Philippians 3:9-11: When it counts, I want to be found belonging to Him, not clinging to my own righteousness based on law, but actively relying on the faithfulness of the Anointed One. This is true righteousness, supplied by God, acquired by faith. 10 I want to know Him inside and out. I want to experience the power of His resurrection and join in His suffering, shaped by His death, 11 so that I may arrive safely at the resurrection from the dead." Genesis 5:24: "24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away."
