He has been sober almost 10 months and has been working the 12 steps. However, I learned that Bill W, the founder of AA, was a major cheater with numerous infidelities his entire life. He never stopped cheating and caused his wife great pain. He never apologized to his wife or even addresses the pain of infidelity he caused. Even worse, in his books, he makes excuses and discourages his followers from coming clean to their wives about cheating. What a hypocrite. Now, every time my husband goes to an AA meeting or speaks about the greatness of AA, all I can think about is what a horrible person Bill W is for what he did to his wife. How am I supposed to reconcile this? Glad my husband is sober, but I have a problem with my husband speaking the virtues of an unapologetic serial philanderer. It's totally unfair that AA itself is a huge trigger for me now knowing this information about the founder. What do I do?
