Question:

Hi Rick,

It’s been 9 months since D-day. My husband is trying to be honest and telling me everything, but there are lots of reminders for me every day. Sometimes, I want to ask him some of the questions or talk about reminders that come to my mind, but I have to keep it to myself and cry alone. The reason I keep it to myself is because he told me he tries not to think of what he’s done to hurt me. If I ask and we talk about it again than it reminds him and it hurts him so much. Another reason is because his work is keeping me from wanting to talk to him about the reminders. Every time we talk about my reminders then we lose sleep because of emotions. We work 7am to 5pm and weekends are for the kids and family. I do want to talk because I get better understanding even though I get sad at the moment, but it makes me feel much better for a few days. What is your advice? I don't want to remind my husband and he get hurt, but I am also hurt by keeping it to myself.
