My husband had several online affairs that were mostly comprised of sexual activity. He claims it didn't seem like real people, even though one of them was in his office. He struggles with serious anxiety and an inability to embrace any emotional discomfort and claims these interactions gave him a positive "high" and distracted him from his emotional issues. We recently registered for EMSO, I hoped he can have some accountability supporters and gain some objective views of the impact of his behavior. Can the online environment be an effective for him because he does not seem to view online correspondence as real or connective to others? If so, is there anything we can do to enhance our EMSO experience to help him "get it"?
