Question: 

Why would a wayward spouse repeatedly tell his betrayed spouse and daughter that he is leaving to go be with the affair partner if he had no fixed plans to actually go be with her? No money allocated for the trip, move, or housing. Isn't this extreme gaslighting at the very least? Cruel?
