Q&A What are the Pros and Cons to Separation After Infidelity?

Question

Can you please tell me the benefits of a trial separation after infidelity? We have children so we hadn't taken this step previously to protect them. We have been struggling and going around in circles with our recovery for over a year. We do not see eye to eye on what a recovery plan should look like so it feels like a separation may be the next logical step. Do you have advice on how separation has helped other couples? Thank you!
